12V 3-wire exhaust system 10871 Replace 270-10871 stop solenoid for Corsa Marine Captain
Note: If you have a 4-wire solenoid, you will need to purchase this and rewire with a new 3-wire connector. The older model 270-10871 solenoid has also been replaced by this model.
Replace part number:
10871,270-10871,27010871
Specification:
Test procedure for three-wire solenoids (black connector)
1. Disconnect the solenoid from the wiring harness at the quick disconnect and check the connections for corrosion. Terminal plugs should be locked into place in the connector and should not come out. If the terminals come out easily at the connector, it may not be making good contact with the mating terminal.
2. If the terminals are free of corrosion and held firmly in place in the connector, connect directly to the battery, according to the diagram and the following test procedure, to determine if the solenoid is operating properly.
(see last picture)
Connect the black wire first, followed by the white wire. Once the red wire is connected
solenoid, the plunger should retract and remain seated until either the red or black wire is disconnected. The white and black wires should remain cool even after a few seconds have passed. When the solenoid is disconnected, it should return to its previous position.
3. If the solenoid fails with the above procedure, the white or black wires are hot or the contacts are heavily corroded.
Application:
Suitable for Corsa Electric Captain's Call Systems
